There are several environmental limiting factors for leak plugging under pressure.
L. Leakage and pressure opening of extremely hazardous media
Considering the serious damage caused by the leakage of extremely hazardous media to the workers, it is easy to leave sequelae. During the construction of pressurized sealing engineering, operators must contact with leaking media directly. Current protective measures can not guarantee the safety of operators. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to use pressurized sealing engineering for leakage of extremely hazardous media.
2. Leakages with nuclear radiation hazards
Considering that there is no protective equipment suitable for the construction of pressurized sealing engineering in the environment of nuclear radiation hazards in China, and there is no successful case report of pressurized sealing in the environment of nuclear radiation hazards or in the area of nuclear devices. Therefore, in the environment of nuclear radiation hazards, it is strictly forbidden to use pressurized sealing engineering for operation.
3. Site safety and protective measures can not meet the site and location stipulated in construction of pressurized sealing engineering

4. The material thinning of the sealed part under pressure can not detect the leaking part clearly.
The characteristic of pressurized sealing technology is that the leakage can be eliminated only by applying sufficient specific pressure to the sealing part. If the thinning of the sealing part can not be detected clearly, the sealing part may not be able to withstand the specific pressure of the seal, and there will be the risk of the sealing part being crushed or the pipeline breaking.
5. The crack-sensitivity of materials in pressurized sealing parts can not effectively stop the expanding leakage parts.
Cracks in pipes are caused by different reasons. The leakage caused by cracks can be eliminated by sealing under pressure. However, pressure seal can not eliminate the causes of cracks. Therefore, after eliminating leakage, cracks will continue to expand, and it is not easy to be found in time because of the inclusion of sealing parts. When cracks extend to the extent that they can not meet the strength requirements of pipelines, sudden rupture will occur. Therefore, only when effective crack arrest measures are determined can pressure seal be carried out.
6. The stiffness and strength of the material in the pressurized sealing part can not meet the requirements of the installation of solid parts.
The size of fixture design is related to the size of the leaking part and the temperature and pressure. In general, the strength and stiffness of the material in the pressurized sealing part can meet the requirements of fixture installation. However, when the diameter of the pipe is small or the thickness and volume of the clamp are large, the pipe may not be able to withstand the bending moment and deformation caused by fixture installation, so the clamp can not be installed at this time, and the operation of injecting sealant can not be carried out; otherwise, the deformation and fracture will be accelerated. Of course, if some measures are taken to support the quality of the clamp, this situation can be improved. This is the case.
7. The strength of bolts in pressurized sealing parts can not meet the requirement of specific pressure and can not reinforce the leakage parts.
In the case of injecting sealant, the increase of the specific pressure of the seal will produce certain tensile stress on the connecting bolt at the leakage site. When the strength of the connecting bolt is insufficient, it is easy to break. Therefore, the bolt strength of the pressurized sealing part can not meet the requirement of the specific pressure of the seal and the leakage part which can not be strengthened can not carry out the pressurized sealing operation.
8. Flange with pressure seal is strictly forbidden in case of leakage of flange seal sheet on annular connection surface and no effective bolt reinforcement measures.
The greatest advantage of linear sealing flange gasket is that it can achieve the maximum sealing specific pressure required by flange with smaller bolt tightening force, which is much smaller than the bolt tightening force required by flat gasket flange. Therefore, although the linear sealing flange gasket is used for high temperature and high pressure sealing, the diameter of the connecting bolt is not very large and the number is not very large. If the flange clamp is used to seal the line sealing flange with pressure, it is equivalent to injecting a wider flat gasket between the flanges, which completely destroys the original line sealing structure. If the specific sealing pressure of flange is to be satisfied, the tension (fastening force) of connecting bolt should be increased several times or more. The residual stress of the original design bolt obviously can not meet this requirement, which may lead to the failure and fracture of the flange connection bolt.
